Website photo editing evidence

After gathering the images from the photoshoot, certain images needed editing I did this by playing with the levels to lighten them and give them more of a professional edge. The outcome is below and I am happy with them.

Website location, equipment and cast list

For my website there were many different shoots that needed to take place and also equipment that was used. The locations were: Newquay and Lanhydrock which are places with amazing natural beauty this is why I chose these locations as a good place for my regional topic. In Newquay I went to many different locations such as: Fistral beach, Mr.Shilton's Barber Shop and various coffee shops around Newquay. However around the Bodmin area I went to Lanhydrock and also The Harbour Brewing Company. These locations gave me the results I wanted and proved to be useful for my regional/hipster products. The equipment I used during the time I was taking photos were: iPhone 5 camera, Cannon D5, 800 mm lens which game me phenomenal shots of surfers of at Fistral beach.
There were various surfers at Newquay which I got a shot of, and during my time at Mr.Shilton's barbers a character called 'Curly Tom' was in the shots.

Original website images and reflection

For my website I had to have plenty of images so this meant using images from the many different shoots I did. The locations of these images are:

  • Fistral beach, Newquay
  • Lanhydrock
  • Harbour Brewery
  • Mr.Shilton's barbers
From looking at these photos I am happy with the quality and the style of photography I have done. I think overall the images are of a high quality and you would see similar photos like these in real media products such as: Cornwall Today. I ensured that I experimented with different lenses such as the 800mm to ensure that I could get high quality close ups of the surfers but also using good quality cameras to get these high quality images like the Cannon D5.

Style of website

For my website I want to follow the same design as my magazine with the hipster, regional look. Therefore from looking at my target audience and the finished products I have created, my magazine needs to have the same type of simplistic design, but also providing the reader with plenty of images and text to keep them hooked. The colour scheme and fonts use will also have that consistent theme that is similar to my magazine too, with the costal colours of yellow, blue, and greys. They font will be sophisticated with a simple touch, which will flow throughout the website. Below is a moodboard of the website theme I am going with:

Website target audience

My website will have a very similar target audience to my magazine target audience, my target audience is a balanced sexed of both female and male audience that are between the ages of 18-35. They will fit into a C2\D class, as this will be suited for not only the content of the magazine, but also the price. A lot of the articles featured in my magazine and website, will require disposable income. The products I am creating will be aimed at an audience that will have money to spend on products, have free time and will be willing to pay the amount for my magazine as well as subscribing online.
My website will follow a consistent style that is reflected in my magazine, therefore it will flow better and will be adapted to what my target audience said they wanted in products like these. Due to my target audience being a mix of both female and male it allows me to feature articles that will suit both genders. This means my regional magazine can have more flexibility to include a range of articles.
