Bauer media group, are a european based media company they are very well known for having many magazines, TV channels and radio channels. The company has many different ways of getting funding because of this. The magazine I'm going to focus on that is owned by the Bauer Media Group is Q magazine. Q magazine, is a rock/indie magazine, that is very famous for having some of the best musical acts featured in their magazines. They are a print company, that releases magazines monthly, at a high quality. Q magazine is owned by Bauer Media Group, it's a magazine that is not cheap but decently priced. The screenshot on the right shows how many purchases, Q had in 2015 it shows how much the purchases went up by and the total amount of figures. Q magazine is widely advertised, on the radio, and internet. It has it's own website, which also helps advertise the brand. The brand has many readers, and is well recognised which therefore makes the article easier to sell itself as well. The magazine, is published by a major publishing group, which means it gets funding, and has a good amount of money spend in order to produce it. The Bauer Media Group also owns companies such as MOJO and Empire magazine. 
Wenner Media is a company owned by Jann Wenner, it's well known for producing the music magazine Rolling Stone. The Rolling Stone is also a well known music magazine, it includes articles from all sorts of genres and produces magazines at a high level. The screenshot on the right shows how total of how much the magazine circulated in 2014, there are many readers of the magazine, and this includes a website that helps advertise it. Billboards posters and the well known look also help sell the magazine, the Rolling stone has a lot of viewers and the publishing group is now continuing on by selling other magazines such as Mens Journal, and US Weekly. The publishing company overall is a huge success.NME are huge magazine company, they produce music magazines that cover a range of genres, however tend to feature more indie/rock articles. NME was one of the biggest selling magazines in the 90's however due to the decreasing demand for magazines, they have developed onto an online magazine, as well as publishing a magazine for free. NME are widely successful company, and have a iconic look easy for the viewer to recognise, it's had some of the biggest artists featured on their magazines and on their website where a range of articles can be accessed. The screenshot on the right shows the circulation rate of NME, editors and about the company. The NME website was voted best website of the year in 1999 and 2001, its of a high quality and provides a music magazine everyone can enjoy. They get there funding off copies people buy and the website views.
MOJO provide music magazines with all sorts of genres, from reggae, to rock. The company provides magazines, however have a growing website providing articles, news and pictures. Mojo is also owned by the Bauer Media Group. The image on the right shows the total circulation of the magazine, articles featured on MOJO are Radiohead, REM and many more famous artists. MOJO also feature top 100 albums, the most recent is top 100 reggae albums, with Bob Marley and the Wailers Catch a Fire featuring number one. Mojo get their funding off Bauer Media Group and by customers going on the website as well as selling copies.
Bearded magazine, are a independently run magazine, that features new and upcoming artists, they are a small magazine company, that has a website. The magazine company have a unique look, and provide interviews, and live performances off independent acts. Bearded magazine gets their funding off website views, and ads featured. It features people no matter what their style or genre of music. Bearded Magazine are a small close group but provide high quality articles.
The main differences between online and print magazines are:
- Online magazines feature more articles, pictures and content
- Print magazines provide high quality products available whenever
- Online magazines, advertise the print version of the magazine, all over the website.
- Print magazines provide posters, keepsakes and sometimes even content such as EPs.
- Online magazines have an archive to find articles whenever, also go into more depth
- Print magazines provide more exclusive images, as well as interviews which a online magazine can not provide as well.
- Print magazines are physical and can be kept, where as online is only accessible at certain points.
The company most likely fitting to publish my magazine is Bauer Media Group, the Bauer Media Group are a huge company that is one of the biggest companies owning many different types of media, such as TV shows, radio stations and magazines. The company overall have many different magazine companies that fit into my sub genre of music. They have magazines such as Kerrang, and Q magazine. Both of these magazines fit into the rock/indie genre I want my magazine to be like. The company also are doing well financially, the image on the right shows the amount of revenue Bauer Media Group have made in the last years from 2005-2014. The main theme of my magazine, will be very similar to Q magazine, the magazine has a unique look to it, and is clean. It's an iconic magazine, and is easily recognised by many people. Q magazine also features the type of content I will want to feature in my magazine, the articles are about albums, artists and have loads of information of the type of music genre I'm focusing on. The article on the right shows the circulation of Q magazine, it shows that overall circulation which is 44,050 this includes prints and digital editions.
