| Cornwall's age ranges |
When taking these into account I am creating a regional magazine, that includes topics that a younger audience will prefer my preferable age range will be between an 18-35. There are many reasons I have chosen this age range. Firstly I am having topics about tattoos, local businesses that have a very unique hipster look to it. Another reason for me choosing this age range is, that there has been statistics that tattoos are becoming and more popular with the millennial generation. Therefore I feel by targeting this age range I will have attracted my readers. I also wanted to attract an audience that would becoming more financially stable and having more disposable income. Therefore picking this age range, I believe will attract this type of audience specifically, as many of them will be students with disposable income, or have careers that they will ensure that there's money for them to purchase my magazine. Overall by picking a younger range audience, I would be fitting in with Dick Hebdige's theory (1988) of "youth as fun."

| Cornwall's gender statistics |
Gender is another factor I need to take into account, I am including images that will include females and males. Therefore I am aiming at a mixed gender audience, this is because I am also including topics that will attract both sexes. I will not specifically have any pictures that sexualises a certain gender, therefore I think it will be a magazine that will appeal to both sexes. However statistics have proven that there are more females than males within Cornwall. I am going to assess my target audience of class too, this means I want a audience that will have disposable income in order for them to be able to purchase my magazine. Therefore I want a audience from a C2 up to A class magazine. These are the classes that will have good jobs and careers therefore, every month they will most likely have some sort of disposable income. Therefore I will need to ensure my topics will attract them enough them to spend money on the magazine. These classes that I have disclosed, will certainly every month have a certain bit of money that they spend on what they like. It is important that I aim my topics at them. For things like religion I am not particlularly aiming at a specific religion as my topics do not, particularly target a certain religion. However when researching Cornwall's demographics, I can see that overall Cornwall is a predominantly Christian county. This means that overall I will most likely have a christian audience. For my audience, I will most likely have a niche audience overall, as the magazine is specifically based in Cornwall. This means when you look at the country overall the magazine has a niche audience as it is specifically focusing on a specific area. However when we look at Cornwall overall, the magazine fits into a bit of both with these categories. There is a mixed age range with Cornwall, therefore if we consider the age range I wish to aim my magazine at, we can see that there is quite a large audience.
I am also aiming my regional hipster magazine at an audience that has specific interests. For example I want to include lifestyle articles, alongside food and drink articles and articles on the surfing/costal culture around Cornwall. By including this I have to have a target audience that will fit these interests. I will also need an audience that has a very laid back lifestyle with a disposable income, I will need this firstly to get custom for my magazine but also the articles feature will require them to have a disposable income therefore I am focusing on a possible C1 but definite C2/D audience. I will also be focusing on an audience that has a fun lifestyle and loads of friendships, this is good to have as it allows me to add articles that will be adapted to this. This also focuses on Dick Hedbige's theory (1988) "Youth as fun."
